The tourism industry is an essential part of Colorado’s economy that generated $27.7B in visitor spending and supported 176,800 jobs in 2022. Increasingly, the destination organizations that are responsible for the development, promotion, and management of tourism on behalf of their community are expanding their role through destination stewardship, which seeks to strike a balance between economic vitality, residential quality of life, and protection of the environment.
