About EDCC’s Public Policy
An important part of EDCC’s mission is to keep Colorado as business-friendly as possible. The Board of Directors and the Public Policy Committee, representing membership of the EDCC, proactively engages in the Legislative Session each year. The Public Policy Committee works closely with elected officials, legislative bodies, and its lobbying firm (Bowditch & Cassell), to give educated and sound recommendations to the Board of Directors on policy positions. Through this collective effort, the committee is actively shaping business-friendly policy to support of economic vitality for Colorado. They take positions on legislative issues that impact economic development, engages in advocacy activities and lobbies for issues critical to successful economic development across the state of Colorado.
Get Involved
The Public Policy Committee is made up of EDCC members that represent organizations involved in economic development both in the public and private sectors. The committee provides an opportunity for EDCC members to engage in an open dialogue on current public policy issues. The committee is at the forefront of top state-wide issues related to economic development. EDCC’s Legislative Advocacy Team is made up of action-oriented individuals who advocate and testify on behalf of our organization. If you are interested in jumping in the action and supporting sound policy, we’re looking for you!

EDCC’s Annual Legislative Luncheon & Day at the Capitol
This must-attend unique networking event is designed to forge long-lasting relationships between economic development stakeholders and their perspective legislators. The luncheon is an opportunity to educate and highlight the value and importance of responsible, sustainable economic development, and business practices. We will then proceed to committee hearings at and around the capitol, helping demystify the legislative and testimony process for our professionals.
