Wendi Nafziger

Wendi Nafziger is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and is the Business Development Manager for the City of Commerce City Economic Development Division.  She has worked in the economic development field for more than 35 years.  Wendi graduated from Skyline High School in Longmont and participated in the Career Development Center’s Business Program throughout high school.  She completed her basic economic development course in 1995 and received her Certified Economic Developer designation in 2000.  Wendi joined the City of Commerce City in October of 2020.  Prior to that she was with the Longmont Economic Development Partnership for over 35 years.  She was the 2001 president of the Boulder County Business Hall of Fame, a former member and treasurer of the Longmont Twin Peaks Rotary, a former board member and treasurer of Safe Shelter of St. Vrain Valley, a former board member and treasurer of the Economic Development Council of Colorado, and a member of the International Economic Development Council.

In 1997 Wendi was recognized as Business Partner of the Year by the St. Vrain Valley School District.  Wendi was also recognized as the 2001 Affiliate of the Year and 2005 Citizen of the Year by the Longmont Association of Realtors.  In 2007 Wendi was presented with the “Women of Distinction Award” by the Girl Scouts; and in 2009 she received the “LeMoyne Monson 4 Way Test Award” from Twin Peaks Rotary.  Most recently Wendi was recognized with the “Economic Development Achievement Award” from the Economic Development Council of Colorado.
