Are Opportunity Zones still a Game Changer?
Are Opportunity Zones still a Game Changer?
The Federal Opportunity Zone Program was created in 2017 to bring investment to distressed state census tracts. Investors have poured billions of dollars into Opportunity Zones, demonstrating confidence in the program’s value to long-term investment. However, time-based incentives to invest in Opportunity Zones are coming to a close, and questions have been raised as to how much of an impact those dollars are making on local communities. Join the EDCC, OEDIT, and a panel of OZ experts as we discuss the present and future of the OZ Program, and whether the program remains the “game changer” it promised to be at its inception.
