Governor Polis Announces 2020 Winner of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that Laser Technology, Inc. has earned the 2020 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting for their economic contributions that have advanced Colorado’s international trade.

“Laser Technology Inc. is a shining example of how exporting expands businesses, increases profits and grows Colorado’s economy,” said Katie Woslager, senior manager of advanced industries at OEDIT. “We are honored to recognize Laser Technology, Inc. for their commitment to Colorado and wish them continued success.”
Founded in 1985 in Englewood, Colorado, Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) provides innovative and affordable laser measurement technology. The company focuses on products that enable global needs within industrial and professional applications including forestry, mining, mapping, utilities, surveying, speed enforcement and crash investigations.
LTI introduced the world’s first commercial laser speed measuring device, the first timber cruising hand-held total station, a custom space station docking system for NASA and the TruCam 2 which is the most advanced, handheld speed measurement product utilized worldwide. Since its first international laser sale in 1990, LTI has expanded into more than 100 countries that span all seven continents.
The Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting was established in 1970 to recognize economic growth through international business.
Colorado exported $8.3 billion in products in 2018. The Excellence in Exporting Award recognizes the essential role that exports play in the state’s economy by highlighting noteworthy export activity around the state. More information about OEDIT’s export grant programs can be found here.
