The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and Colorado Creative Industries announced today that 33 diverse Colorado arts organizations were selected as first-round award recipients of the National Endowment for the Arts’ (NEA) 2022 grant cycle. With awardees from the Eastern Plains to the Western Slope, this represents a two-fold increase from 2021, when 16 organizations were awarded.
“These NEA grants underscore the resilience of our nation’s artists and arts organizations, will support efforts to provide access to the arts, and help rebuild the creative economy,” said Acting Chair Ann Eilers. “The supported projects demonstrate how the arts are a source of strength and well-being for communities and individuals, and can open doors to conversations that address complex issues of our time.”
Colorado Creative Industries Director Margaret Hunt said, “We’ve seen the transformative impact the arts can have on Colorado’s economy and communities. We are delighted that the NEA also recognizes the importance of Colorado’s creative community and so generously supported them with this first-round funding.”
