PUEBLO, CO — October 28, 2025 — The Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC) presented the Chairman’s Choice Award to John Bristol, Executive Director of the Routt County Economic Development Partnership, during its annual Drive|Lead|Succeed Conference in Pueblo. The EDIE Awards recognize excellence in economic development and celebrate the leaders and communities shaping Colorado’s economic future.

Bristol was selected by EDCC’s Board Chair for his exceptional leadership, mentorship, and dedication to strengthening Colorado’s statewide economic development network. As a member of EDCC’s Executive Committee, he has advanced critical initiatives in financial governance, championed public policy advocacy, and provided mentorship to numerous rural communities across the state.

In Northwest Colorado, Bristol has played a key role in uniting stakeholders during significant economic transitions, demonstrating the transformative value of collaboration and regional partnership. His efforts have not only elevated EDCC’s mission but have also inspired emerging leaders to engage in and champion the field of economic development.

“John Bristol represents the best of what economic development in Colorado stands for — collaboration, service, and vision,” said Adam Krueger, EDCC Board Chair and Economic Development Director for the City of Thornton. “His leadership has strengthened communities across our state and has inspired a culture of partnership that continues to move Colorado forward.”

Kim Woodworth, Executive Director of the EDCC, added, “John’s influence extends far beyond his region. His commitment to mentoring others, advancing strategic initiatives, and championing the profession embodies EDCC’s mission to connect and empower economic developers statewide. We are proud to recognize his contributions with this year’s Chairman’s Choice Award.”
