State-wide Economic Development Professionals Dedicated to
Economic Vitality and Quality of Life for its Communities
An important part of EDCC’s mission is to keep Colorado as business-friendly as possible. The Board of Directors and the Public Policy Committee, representing membership of the EDCC, proactively engages in the Legislative Session each year. The Public Policy Committee works closely with elected officials, legislative bodies, and its lobbying firm, Bowditch & Cassell, to give educated and sound recommendations to the Board of Directors on policy positions. Through this collective effort, the Board of Directors provides input and assists in shaping policy in support of economic development, takes positions on legislative issues that impact economic development, and engages in advocacy activities and lobbies for issues critical to successful economic development across the state of Colorado.
Learn how you can get more involved:
The Public Policy Committee is made up of EDCC members that represent organizations involved in economic development both in the public and private sectors. The committee provides an opportunity for EDCC members to engage in an open dialogue on current public policy issues. The committee is at the forefront of top state-wide issues related to economic development. To learn how your organization can become more involved, contact Stewart Meek, Public Policy Committee Co-Chair.
We are looking for Economic Development Professionals who can advocate and testify on behalf of EDCC. We are gathering a Legislative Advocacy Team. If you are interested in jumping in the action and supporting sound policy, we’re looking for you!
We are hosting a meet up before this year’s Legislative Luncheon to talk about the different ways in which we can engage with our elected officials, train on how to testify, and to watch current testimony. Register to attend under the Legislative Luncheon section.
Every year, EDCC hosts an legislative luncheon at the capitol. It is an opportunity to connect with our fellow professionals in the industry, connect with our prospective legislators, and highlight the importance of educated and sound policy around critical issues that help shape our robust economy.
