The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today that indieDwell, a modular manufacturer of healthy, durable, energy efficient, and sustainable housing, has selected Pueblo, Colorado as the site of their second factory. Started in Idaho, indieDwell products are designed to combat the affordable housing crisis in the United States.
indieDwell further supports its socially conscious mission by partnering with local organizations and community leaders to use the opportunity as a path for empowerment. The company strongly believes that people are their greatest asset and is committed to their personal growth. It offers internal training programs that work in concert with local community colleges and trade schools to move individuals through an introductory period to apprenticeship and finally journeyman status. indieDwell prioritizes veteran, women and people of color in their hiring practices to provide opportunity and access to new career paths.
“Colorado, and in particular the City of Pueblo, have been simply incredible to work with as we considered our expansion options. The need for affordable housing is immense all over the state, and every organization we met with welcomed the company with partnership ideas in a way we rarely see. We could not be more excited about opening our second factory in such a great state” said Pete Gombert, indieDwell’s co-founder and Executive Chairman.
