Governor and OEDIT Recognize four Colorado Companies for Excellence in Exporting

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced today the Governor’s Awards for Excellence in Exporting winners. Mile High Labs, Aerosol Devices and Kapteyn-Murnane Laboratories were each recognized. Ska Brewing received an honorable mention.

Mile High Labs
Mile High Labs is a global leader in hemp-derived cannabinoid extraction and manufacturing. Mile High Labs supplies bulk cannabinoid ingredients and private label CBD products to the world’s leading consumer brands. The company’s adherence to the strictest manufacturing certifications and commitment to self-regulation has earned the trust of brands and consumers around the world. Aerosol Devices
Aerosol Devices Inc develops, manufactures and markets aerosol particle samplers and monitors. Aerosol Devices currently exports to more than ten countries. Their scientific research instrumentation has brought international recognition to Colorado and strengthens the state’s commitment to air quality, human and animal health, and research in climate and atmospheric sciences. Aerosol Devices highlights the significance of the Photonics industry in Colorado.
KM Labs

Kapteyn-Murnane Laboratories, Inc. (KMLabs) is an ultrafast laser manufacturer founded by two CU Boulder physics professors, Prof. Dr. Margaret Murnane and Prof. Dr. Henry Kapteyn. The company specializes in cutting-edge R&D light source development and manufactures research-grade ultrafast tabletop NIR/VUV/EUV/SXR lasers and related equipment for universities, research labs, or industrial sectors worldwide.
KMLabs is the only manufacturer of commercial and research-grade Ti:sapphire-based ultrafast lasers in Colorado and they are extensively published throughout the world for their work.
Ska Brewing

This year, for the first time, Ska Brewing was awarded an honorable mention. Located in Durango, CO, Ska Brewing is an exporter of craft beer in seven markets worldwide. They are a great representation of how to source locally. Ska Brewing buys 50% of their malt from Monte Vista and cans for their beer from Boulder.
The Governor’s Award for Excellence in Exporting was established in 1970 to recognize economic growth through international business. Colorado exported $8.3 billion in products in 2020. The Excellence in Exporting Award recognizes the essential role that exports play in the state’s economy by highlighting noteworthy export activity around the state.
