Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC)
The BEDC course provides a substantial introduction to the theory and fundamentals of comprehensive economic development. The formal instruction emphasizes beneficial development that can result from the constructive actions of local leaders, and revolves around five major themes: innovative community development concepts; regional economics; basic factors in development; techniques of economic development and trends in economic development.
This course is executed in partnership with Colorado State University.
This BEDC is accredited through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Accreditation by IEDC ensures that the BEDC covers subject areas determined to be the core building blocks in any economic development program.
Noncredit courses do not produce academic credit nor appear on a Colorado State University academic transcript.
