Registration has opened soon for the Third Annual IEDC accredited course offered in Colorado - Basic Economic Development. The BEDC is the first step on the professional track of an economic developer. It provides a substantial introduction to the theory and fundamentals of comprehensive economic development. The formal instruction emphasizes beneficial development which can result from the constructive actions of local leaders, and revolves around five major themes; innovative community development concepts, regional economics, basic factors in development, techniques of, and trends in economic development.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The scholarship program has been identified by the Professional Development/Education Committee as a valuable tool to assist economic developers and/or practitioners with educational and professional development in the industry.
ü PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for professional development opportunities in the economic development industry and include; International Economic Development Council (IEDC), Economic Development Institute (EDI), Business Retention Expansion (BRE), Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC), CEcD Training Course, etc. There are six (6) scholarships per calendar year with a maximum award of $500. Applicant can receive only one professional development/education scholarship per calendar year.
ü EDCC CONFERENCE REGISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is designed to assist members the opportunity to attend an EDCC conference. There are four (4) scholarships per calendar year with a maximum award of $250. Applicant can receive only one EDCC conference registration scholarship with membership.
ü RURAL TRAVEL ECONOMIC ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is designed to assist small, rural communities to attend EDCC annual conferences. There are ten (10) scholarships per calendar year with a maximum award of $100. Applicant can receive one rural travel assistance scholarship every third conference.
Your application will be reviewed by the Professional Development/Education committee and will be approved subject to availability of funds. Notification will be sent electronically.
General Eligibility
The applicant must be a member of EDCC in the current calendar year.
